Moritaka Yoshita / Racco Cutlery / matte type

Moritaka Yoshita / Racco Cutlery / matte type

Compact and versatile cutlery for both cooking and dining

This versatile cutlery series was created in response to pepole saying they “struggled to find a place to rest spoons or utensils in a small kitchen.” Designed to be useful both in the kitchen and at the dining table, each piece features a wide, easy-to-grip handle that can also serve as a compact utensil rest for chopsticks or small tools.

The series is named “racco”, inspired by sea otters skillfully using tools on their bellies—just like these utensils support your cooking and dining with ease. Each item is carefully shaped for comfortable eating and for smooth use as a cooking utensil, offering practical functionality in everyday kitchen routines. This functional design was selected for the Good Design Award Best 100 in 2022.

Moritaka Yoshita

A product designer and founder of Yoshita Handicraft Design Office. His design process involves creating models and prototypes by hand, bridging traditional craftsmanship with industrial manufacturing. He focuses on developing user-friendly products that maximize the potential of materials and production techniques.
