Faithfully Rendered Rugs Based on Max Bill’s Original Graphics
These rugs were meticulously crafted under the supervision of Jakob Bill—son of Max Bill, administrator of the Max Bill Foundation, and an accomplished artist himself.
Each rug is based on one of Max Bill’s original graphic works.
The yarns were dyed and color-checked one by one to ensure a faithful reproduction of the original hues, staying as true as possible to the original artworks. -

METROCS is a furniture brand established in Japan in 2002, passing masterpiece design items to future generations. Collaborated with designers and their foundations, we revive and commercialize historical design products. Our mission is to discover buried “truly high-quality product”, and pass its ingenuity, sincerity and stories hidden in the materials, parts and construction method, down in perpetuity.
Max Bill [1908-1994]
Born in Winterthur, Switzerland. For three years beginning in 1924, Bill studied silversmith in Zurich, after which he studied under Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee at Bauhaus. Bill wore many hats, including that of painter, sculptor, graphic artist, architect, and industrial designer. Later, determined to pass on the spirit of Bauhaus, he devoted himself to the founding the Ulm School of Design, where he would serve as the school’s first chancellor. Consistently pursuing the creative process founded in “regularity” and “logic,” today his theories have a profound influence on the worlds of design and art.
