A sustainable umbrella stand using recycled materials

This umbrella stand uses a recycled material with a porous structure for the umbrella holder section, allowing it to absorb water droplets from wet umbrellas.

The idea was born in Tsubame-Sanjo, a region known for its metalworking industry, with the hope of creating meaningful products from everyday industrial waste. The main component of the recycled material is casting sand—originally used in metal molds—which would otherwise be discarded after use.

The simple design blends seamlessly into a variety of interior spaces.The base is made of stainless steel ingot, giving it enough weight and stability to prevent tipping, even with a small footprint.

You can insert umbrellas through the top ring into the holder below. The end of the ring also allows you to hang folding umbrellas by their strap. The top of the umbrella holder is slightly wider to prevent umbrellas from catching on the rim when placed inside.
