Robin Day / Form Group 2 seats sofa with central table (FG3-03)

Robin Day / Form Group 2 seats sofa with central table (FG3-03)

Robin Day's masterpiece from the British mid-century period

Originally created in 1960 by celebrated British designer Robin Day, the modular “Forum Group” sofa has been faithfully reissued under the supervision of the Robin & Lucienne Day Foundation.
Its steel frame, cushions, and optional table modules can be flexibly combined to create a variety of configurations, allowing you to tailor the layout to your lifestyle. A winner of the 1961 Design Centre Award, this piece stands as one of Robin Day’s most renowned mid-century masterpieces.

An Innovative Design Expressing Purpose and Structure

Breaking away from traditional sofa-making methods that relied on wood frames and springs, this design employs durable rubber webbing tape to support the seat cushions. Uniquely, the webbing—normally hidden inside a sofa’s structure—was brought to the surface and elevated into a defining design element. At the time of its release, this innovative approach was hailed as one of the most progressive and forward-thinking designs of its era.
With its distinctive yet refined aesthetic, this sofa creates a modern and sophisticated atmosphere in any living space.

A High-Quality Sofa Combining Style and Functionality

This model is a two-seater sofa with an integrated center table. The built-in table provides versatility : use it to display your favorite objects as part of your décor, or enjoy it as a coffee table to complement relaxing moments on the sofa. Combining practical convenience with elegant design, it adapts beautifully to a variety of living situations.

Each seat offers generous dimensions—71 cm wide by 53 cm deep—ensuring plenty of space to relax. The cushions are engineered with the ideal balance of firmness and resilience, providing excellent body support without excessive sinking, making it easy to stand up comfortably and reducing strain on the lower back and legs.

The upholstery is made from premium, Japanese-made fabrics known for exceptional abrasion resistance, often used in contract and public furniture. Customers can choose between the simple, versatile NC series or the classic TRAD series featuring a timeless herringbone pattern.
