Born in Pori, Finland. He obtained his Bachelor’ s degree in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design from the Lahti Institute of Design, Lahti Polytechnic in Finland, and his Master’ s degree in Design Products from the Royal College of Art in the UK. After graduating from the RCA, he moved to Japan where he worked as the Senior Designer for Torafu Architects. In 2020 he established his own design studio, DSMPK, in Tokyo. Today he collaborates with various brands around the world to design interiors, products, and spaces. Received the iF Design Award 2022.

A simple structure composed only of a frame assembled in a ladder shape and the shelf boards. It also suits a partition, there are no back boards and both sides are built the same.

The wagon is assembled by placing the top shelf over the stainless-steel rod on the frame so that the grooves in the rim of the shelf hook onto the rod.

The top and bottom shelves are made of melamine-faced plywood, which is resistant to fingerprints and easy to clean. A step is provided between the top shelf and the wooden side panels to prevent items from falling off.

The upper tabletop is large enough to serve as a workspace. The lower tabletop is designed to be slightly smaller than the upper one so that it doesn't get in the way of the legs when used as a side table.

The frame is assembled by hooking the stainless steel rods into the notches on the sides of the tabletop. No special tools or hardware are required for installation.

When folded, it measures 500mm wide x 130mm deep x 960mm high. This minimizes storage space at home or in the office. It also minimizes carbon dioxide emissions during transportation.

Each leg has one caster, for a total of four, which allows for smooth rotation. Two of the four casters have stoppers, preventing the trolley from moving unexpectedly.

For the finishing touch, we use an original oil made from the wax components extracted from the bamboo's outer layer. The oil finish highlights the beauty of the straight fibers and allows you to feel the fine texture of the bamboo material.
Bamboo: A sustainable and noteworthy material
Bamboo has a strong and rigid tissue structure, excellent bending and compressive strength, and is resistant to expansion and contraction, making it a material that has been used for various everyday items since ancient times. It also has excellent antibacterial, germicidal, and deodorizing properties, and is a natural material that is gentle on the human body and has relaxing and calming effects. Furthermore, it grows faster than wood and can be used as a valuable resource in about three years. It has stems called rhizomes underground, so there is no need to replant if the above-ground parts are cut down, making sustainable production possible.
